Textbooks:

What do I need to check out a textbook?

 
You need your ID card, or you need to know your 6-digit student ID number.  
 

When can I return my textbooks? 

 
You can return your textbooks with your class, if your teacher signs up with the Library, or you can return your textbooks during regular library hours.  
 

When is the last day that I can return textbooks during the school year?

 
The last day to return textbooks in the Fall is the day before Winter Break at 3 pm.  The last day to return textbooks in the Spring is the last day of school at 3 pm.

What do I need to check out a book?

 
You need your ID card, or you need to know your 6-digit student ID number.  
 

How many books can I check out? 

 
You can have up to 5 books checked out at a time.
 

How long can I keep the books I've checked out?

 
The loan period is 4 weeks for regular circulation.  For your convenience, we stamp the due date on a slip at the front of the book. You are responsible for remembering to return your book, so take note!
 

What if I haven't finished my book by the time it's due?

 
You can renew your book for another 3 weeks, as long as there isn't a hold on the book.
 

What is a "hold"?

 
When a student wants a book that is already checked out, we can put a "hold" on that book. This means that when the book is returned, we hold it for the student who requested it.
 

What happens if I return my book late?

 
If your book is more than 60 days late, the book will be marked lost, and you will be charged for the entire cost of the book unless you return it. Please return books on time so that other students have the opportunity to read the books as well!
 
 
When do I have to pay my fines? 
 
You have to pay fines before you can purchase tickets for on campus events and/or before you graduate.
 
 
Where do I pay my fines?
 
Fines are payable with Mrs. Cleveland in Student Services.  It may take 1-2 days to clear your fines after you pay Mrs. Cleveland. The Student Services window is located adjacent to the Oak Building.
 
 
What happens if my book gets damaged while it's checked out to me?
 
You are responsible for keeping your book safe and sound. If it is damaged, you will be charged for the cost to repair or replace the book.

You need your ID card, or you'll need to know your 6-digit student ID number

When using my Chromebook, what is a "school-appropriate" site?

 
Basically, if it's something you wouldn't want school personnel to know you're looking at, it's not okay. Remember, you are using a school-owned computer in a public setting, so keep it rated PG. See the RJUHSD acceptable use policy for all of the juicy details.
 

What do I need to do to get my Chromebook repaired?

 
You can come to the Library during open hours to complete a repair form, or you can complete the online repair form  prior to coming to the Library. Once you have completed the repair form, you will be given a loaner Chromebook (CB)until your Chromebook is repaired. The library will notify you and your parents when your repaired Chromebook is available for pickup. Please bring your loaner CB with you when you pick up your repaired CB. You will not be able to pick up the repaired CB unless you return the loaner Chromebook
