What is CAASPP? 
(California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) 

This is the California state exam that is administered to all 11th graders (and those 12th graders who did not take the CAST last year) and includes testing in three areas:

1. SBAC Literacy
2. SBAC Math
3. CAST (California Science Test)

Who Tests?

9th & 10th Graders 
Will take the practice SBAC (called "Interims") for Literacy and Math.

11th Graders
Will take the Summative (official) SBAC for Literacy and Math, as well as the CAST for Science.

12th Graders
Will only take the CAST for Science if they did not complete it last year as an 11th grader.

Get Ready for Test Day!

Here are a few things you should note as students prepare for testing:

• You should have received your schedules in your 2nd period classes on Wednesday 3/19/25. If you didn’t receive one, please email Mrs. Hurd to get your assignment. 
• Get plenty of sleep!
• Eat breakfast and lunch (free of charge in the cafeteria)!
• Charge your device before you go to bed each night!
• Bring your charging cord just in case!
• Please bring your school-issued Chromebook! Your personal laptop will not work! And, we do not have enough loaner Chromebooks for everyone.
• You will not have access to your cell phones during testing. (Parents should call the school in the event of a family emergency and we will call the classroom.)
• Students caught with their phones, electronic device, or other technologies (excluding their Chromebook) may be subject to disciplinary action. (Students who require technologies for health reasons must notify Mrs. Hurd immediately by emailing at bhurd@rjuhsd.us so we can make arrangements.)

All Seniors will report to the Gym for lots of wonderful fun Senior Fun!

Access Your Scores

Student results can be accessed through Homelink, RJUHSD’s parent portal for our Aeries Student Information System. Once you have logged in:

• Select Test Scores from the menu on the left hand side of the screen

• Within Test Scores, Select State Test Scores Reports for overall performance level on SBAC ELA, SBAC Math, or CAST tests

• From there you will find buttons with links to the various test score reports that are available for your student.

Parents who have selected Do Not Release Records (DNR) options for their student may not be able to access the score reports because student addresses are on the reports. In those cases, you can still see your student’s scores by selecting the Test Scores option and from that screen you may also narrow the results to a particular test using the Limit ID drop down box.

In our district, the test results are just one way to look at how well our students are doing. We use the results to find areas in which students are doing well and areas for growth. It is also important to know that the test results are not used to determine whether a student moves to the next class in a content area.

Bell Schedule for week 1 (March 24-28)

Where do 9th, 10th, 11th graders go to test? 
Students receive their testing schedule during 2nd period on Wednesday 3/19/25. If you did not receive one, your teacher will notify Mrs. Hurd and she will email you and your teacher. You can also ask any staff member on campus - all staff members have access to the rosters.

Where do Seniors go?
Seniors will report to the Gym on all four days of testing for Senior Activities, information about graduation, a Reality Bites simulator, and much more!
